The editor of this magazine is currently ill, and the portal will be CLOSED until Tuesday, 28th of June. If you have sent us an email in the last month, we have received it, we will get to it, and we thank you for your patience; there is no need to send another follow-up email. We appreciate your understanding as our editor works through her health issues and trains new staff, and we will be responding to outstanding emails within the next couple of weeks.

Call for Submissions

Welcome to Galaxy’s Edge magazine’s submission portal! We’re a science fiction and fantasy magazine entering its 10th year of publication, and we can’t wait to deliver more issues of incredible fiction to our readers. If you are one of our longtime authors, or a new writer, you can submit new, previously-unpublished fiction through our Moksha portal.

Please only use the Moksha portal to submit your fiction. Fiction received at the magazine’s official email address, or the editor’s email address, will be automatically deleted!

We will respond to all submissions within three months. If you have not received a reply after three months, email submissions at galaxysedge dot com with the subject line “Submission Follow-Up” to inquire after the status of your story

FICTION SUBMISSIONS PORTAL IS OFFICIALLY OPEN EVERY TUESDAY!

We are currently updating our submissions portal, Galaxy's Edge website, and main Arc Manor website, and will be responding to emails about submissions in the next two days. We will not open to submissions again until Tuesday, May 24th.

If you have sent us an email, we have received it, we will get to it, and we thank you for your patience. We appreciate your understanding as our editor works through her health issues and trains new staff, and we will be responding to outstanding emails within the next week.

We will open the submissions portal at midday (12pm EST/EDT) every Tuesday. The submissions portal on Moksha temporarily closes once we have received a specific number of stories to ensure we respond to all submissions within a three month period.  Once we hit our threshold each week, we will process submissions and open up the portal again the following Tuesday.

Please note that due to a high response, we may open to submissions on Tuesday at midday, and then hit our threshold before midnight on the same day, meaning the portal closes again in less than a day!  Please do not email (or ask our staff) if the portal was OPEN, if it is already CLOSED by the time you checked. If you cannot access the portal, you can correctly surmise it we've hit our maximum submission limit for the week, and we welcome you to submit your story during the next submission window! In the future, we hope to train more staff to handle a larger number of submissions so we can keep the submission window open longer! Thank you for your support of our magazine, and—as always—happy writing!

Additional note: If you have not been professionally published before, feel free to also submit your story for consideration for THE MIKE RESNICK MEMORIAL AWARD for Best Science Fiction Short Story by a New Author. Submissions will be accepted between the 1st of June and the 15th of April, and you can find the guidelines and submit at https://arcmanorpublishers.moksha.io/publication/the-mike-resnick-memorial-award

THE REINVENTED DETECTIVE
Edited by Jennifer Brozek and Cat Rambo

As we move forward into the age of information, what happens to our ideas of detection and crime? How do you handle it when your smart car blackmails you or you need to murder the downloaded personality of your enemy? What acts to enforce society's norms and catch those violating them in the future? Will our definitions of crime — or punishment — change, and what new forms of either might appear?

This is our open call for short stories with those topics. Writers of color, QUILTBAG writers, writers with disabilities, and neuro-diverse writers are actively encouraged to apply, as are writers from outside the United States.

Please click "View Submission Guidelines" above this verbage, and read it, before you click into this portal and make your submission.
